32 years is a respectable age for a labeller, but at some point the time comes where the technology can no longer keep pace with the requirements. This is the situation that Oppacher Mineralquellen GmbH & Co KG, which bottles mineral water, lemonades, spritzers and beers from the affiliated private brewery Schwerter in Meissen on a shared glass line, found itself in.
SEPARATE MACHINE FRONT TABLE
“We were looking for a new machine for the upcoming launch of the 0.33-litre Steinie bottle,” recalls Andreas Pietsch, Head of Technology and Purchasing at Oppacher. “However, we would only have been able to bring in a standard rotary machine if it had been dismantled due to the restricted access to the hall, which was impractical.” On the recommendation of a maintenance service provider, Pietsch turned to RENNER and learnt about the S Syncro machine series. The preliminary stage of the modular RENNER S module has a separate front table and could therefore be installed in two parts and then completed in the line.
BUILT-IN FUTURE OPTIONS
In the RENNER S1200 Syncro, the independent family business in the Oberlausitz Bergland, about 50 km from Dresden, has acquired a machine that is both economical and future-proof. With two permanently installed wet gluing units, eight different formats ranging from GDB through Gastro to Longneck and Steinie are now being labelled with high precision and contact-free alignment for the best-before date print using the servo-controlled bottle plates.
However, due to its special design, the machine can be converted to modular operation if required, e.g. to work with self-adhesive labels.
FAST DELIVERY, GOOD SERVICE
According to Pietsch, there was another reason for awarding the contract: “RENNER was not only the only supplier we knew of who could supply a separable machine, but was also able to deliver it in time for the planned launch of the Steinie bottle. The southern German machine manufacturer was also open to other customer requests and integrated a labelling control system purchased two years previously into the machine.” “RENNER gave us very good advice in advance and also optimally prepared and supported the commissioning,” says Pietsch. “As our products had already been configured and pre-tested at the factory, we were able to run all eight formats after just four days. If we ever need assistance, we receive immediate support via the integrated remote maintenance. I can only recommend working with RENNER.”
“We found the right advice and machine for our specific requirements at RENNER.”
